‘‘Lost in Berlin explores the use of latex within the fetishism subculture where the human body becomes an object, its own entity, dehumanised by materials such as latex, leather and PVC. The use of props such as the whips and chains exaggerate the strong female “riot grrlll’ influenced model dominating over the audience through the camera. The main influence for this photoshoot was the New York and Berlin clubbing scenewhere from the 80’s until now the fetish scene is still heavily seen in the nightlife for self- expression. The make-up and hair was created to fit the late 80’s/ early 90’s aesthetic where make-up was also used to push the bounds of the gender norms in society with excessive facial piercings and wild colour placements within the make-up.’
